Dearest Starchild readers, as I mentioned in the last letter, we have been out shopping with the money that you so generously donated, and here is our report back!

Firstly, here is a picture of Emily's new stove. We were able to buy her a gas and electric stove at a cost of ZAR 9000, to replace the old and worn out stove that she had been using.

Emily is delighted with her new stove, which is big enough for the big pots that she uses to cook for the children. Here she is at work with her new stove.

We were also able to purchase the new computer that Wilma needs to run her Youth Program. Here she is opening the box!

We are still providing food on a weekly basis, so here is the weekly Starchild food delivery. Here Emily and Oupa help to carry the food.

And some young arms to carry the pumpkin!

Good news also is that a friend of mine, Patsy, has joined us at the Soup Kitchen to start a program of play and education for these mostly preschoolers. She collected toys and games from her friends, and has brought them here for the kids to use. These children live in shacks, and don't have access to these kinds of things at home. Here is Patsy with the children.

We still need your help. PLEASE. We are still contributing to the Meals program every week, and we are responsible for the garden and the vegetables. It is the end of summer, and we will be re-planting for fall and winter next month. We need compost and seed, and of course we are paying Oupa who works in the garden and Wilma who runs the Youth program. We can't do these things without your help. So, if you feel moved in your heart, please contribute to our project.

Love, blessings and gratitude

Celia
