Meet Shiree - the Gymnast

Starchild was also able to make a contribution towards the travelling expenses of Shiree Mitchell, a talented young gymnast who was selected to represent her country in a competition in Austria. Shiree has been fortunate enough to find the training and the sponsorship that she needs to enable her to express her talents, despite the poverty of her background. We are happy to work with her as an example of the talents that lie within this community. We are sure that there are more children like Shiree who have much to offer if they are given the support and the opportunities.

This is Shiree with her mother, Siena. The picture was taken outside the gymnasium where Shiree trains three times a week after school. She is pictured here in her school uniform:
