Spring in Africa and the Planting of the Organic Vegetable Garden for the Children's Project

I would like to start by saying a special "Thank You" to all the wonderful people that I met in Tucson, Arizona, USA at the World Congress of Illumination who donated towards our project. Your generosity is appreciated by all of us!.

Well, Spring is trying to come here in Africa, and it is the time for making and planting vegetable gardens for the summer months.

Here, at the Children's project, we have recently relocated our garden to another area. I like this plot much better, since it is located on the outskirts of the township, and borders on "Auntie Margaret's" farm. In fact, Auntie Margaret has donated the piece of land that we are using for the garden. In the pictures below you can see "our" garden on the one side, and Auntie Margaret's farm on the other. Auntie Margaret is a small farmer who works with cattle, chickens, sheep and goats as well as growing vegetables. In Africa, the borderline between "town" and "farm" is often blurred, and these people live a mixture of rural and city life. But I like the idea that the children work with the animals and the trees as part of their experience of the garden.

This is Auntie Margaret's side of the fence:

And this is our side of the fence. You can see the houses of Sun City in the background:

Here Wilma watches as one of the young helpers works on preparing the soil for our garden:

When I am home in Cape Town, I spend most Friday afternoons with Wilma and the Project children. Here some of the children help to prepare the new garden. It was a cold and wet early spring day.:

Then, afterwards they go Wilma's home to share a meal. Here the food is being handed out:

The next week the sun was shining, and we were able to do more work in the garden. Here Wilma's dog joins us in the garden:

And then, home for a good meal, donated by the Starchild Readers. Thank You. :

And finally, a piece of chocolate cake for a treat!

michael Now, some good news for the Project. I will be going to Germany in October to do a workshop, and also for the launch of my book "The Indigo Crystal Adventure" which has been translated into German by the Starchild German translator, Anja Ida Becker. It is being published by Michael Nagula of Amra Verlag in Germany. Michael has undertaken to put 1 Euro from each copy sold into a fund for the Children's project. Thank you, Michael. This is an image of Michael, a Lightworker and publisher from Germany who has undertaken to help us with the project.

So, if you are in Germany, I hope to meet you in October!

love and blessings

Celia
