Christmas at the Children's Project
The Christmas Party
So...on to the Christmas party for 100 children....
This was quite an operation, from making sure that there was enough money for presents and food...to the organization of a Christmas meal.
The organization of the day was done by our Co-Ordinator, Wilma Papier, and her two assistants from the Community, "Stompie" and "Barbie". These people love nicknames, so I only know them by these names. I think "Stompie" is called Monica! Anyway.....here is out team who decorated the room, made up the present "bags", and made the food.

While Wilma was in charge of entertainment and being "Santa". the other two, and me, provided the food. We turned out a hundred meals...those plates just flew past...

Remember it is Summer here, so the meal was Chicken with salads.
So....Wilma entertains the children with some party games to warm things up. In case you are wondering about the young girl at the top right near the tree who appear to have no clothes on, well she was a teen who was helping and she was wearing one of those strapless tops that young girls like!

So...time for presents.....

Each child received a bag with toys and sweets as a Christmas present from us!
And then...time to eat....

....and play....

I just loved these two who had obviously been given these lovely African outfits for Christmas.

and so...time for Santa to take a well-deserved smoke break!!

THANK YOU to all of you who donated and made this possible!
